N63810 / 44-63810 earned the name "Stump Jumper" while still in (post war) USAF service when it belly landed in a field full of 2 foot tall pine tree stumps following an in flight engine failure. It was recovered and repaired for display. It was sold by the Air Force in 1965. In civilian life it was restored to airworthiness, registered N63810 and painted to represent an aircraft of 352nd Fighter Squadron 357th Fighter Group, retaining it's "Stump Jumper" name.
