44-84847 was one of the last P51D's built, serving with the USAF in Korea. It was purchased by Fighter Collection (UK) in 1999, and converted (in California) to a two-seat TF-51D. Registered N251FJ, it made its first flight as such in May 2007. It was painted as Capt. Frank Birtciel's 44-14561 "Miss Velma", of the 343rd Fighter Squadron 55th Fighter Group. It ferried to Duxford in the UK the following month.
