This Mk IX Spitfire was built in 1943, and served with the RAF as MJ271. It was transferred to the Royal Netherlands Air Force in November 1946. It was rebuilt in 2018, flying again in May 2019, now as G-IRTY. It was stripped of all paint in preparation for a 'round the world' flight. It left the UK on May 8th 2019, landing back again on December 5th 2019.
